
Community Renewables Officer
Job Overview
The Community Renewables Officer plays a vital role in enhancing community well-being through effective outreach and engagement initiatives. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders to promote renewable energy, and manage windfarm community benefit funds. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for educating the public on important community issues.
Responsibilities
In your job you will perform all activities and obligations as required to ensure that your duties are properly delivered as per your job description below:
- Work as part of the REAP team to support the Community Fund Panel Members of the Hill of Towie and the Edintore wind farm panels, and others, to administer funds in line with the funders’ aims to the benefit of the community in the areas of benefit.
- Liaising with funders to promote the aims of the fund in the areas of benefit.
- Generate interest in & applications to the community funds administered by REAP to eligible groups in the areas of benefit.
- Management of project finances including bank accounts, grant payments and budgets.
- Devising application forms and other paperwork in line with best practice.
- Attending & administering Decision Making Panel meetings.
- Supporting applicants to become grantees.
- Promote the community benefit funds on REAP social media platforms to effectively market the funds and educate the public.
- Supervise volunteers and staff during community events, ensuring smooth operations and high engagement levels.
- Collaborate with local organisations to strengthen partnerships and enhance service delivery.
- Conduct assessments to identify community needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Prepare reports on project outcomes and community engagement efforts
Requirements
- Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within a community service or public setting.
- Strong skills in project administration, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency in social media management, with a track record of engaging audiences effectively.
- Excellent leadership capabilities, with experience supervising teams or volunteers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to educate diverse audiences.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Post Terms & Conditions
Location: Keith Office – flexible working with some home working
Hours: 7 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
Salary: £13.87 per hour
Holidays: 34 days to include public holidays (pro rata)
The post will be a fixed term contract to 31st November 2027 with possibility of extension subject to funding.
