Wherever you are, whatever your growing experience, you’re invited to be part of the Dandelion sponsored harvest . Come and see local food at its very best to mark the end of the growing season.
This year, we are marking that moment with workshops on seed saving and sowing activity and making herby oatcakes from produce grown in the community. Come enjoy live music and long conversations, swapping stories and sharing the produce. It’s the moment to celebrate a year of growing. The harvest will demonstrate the importance of local food growing and healthy eating by showcasing fruits and vegetables harvested from REAP’s garden, as well as the benefit of growing and consuming local food. Participants will feel empowered to set up growing spaces in their own gardens and will develop the gardening skills necessary to do so.
The harvest celebration event will bring various community groups together helping to create a sense of community around the topic of food growing and community gardening. The informative free workshops will help the community to learn more about gardening, families and children will be entertained by creative and food growing activities.
This a family friendly event and everyone is welcome, booking is essential through Eventbrite. Please click here to book your place.
